Little Sister Nyla needed a friend like Big Sister Laila who would show interest, talk to her, and encourage her to try new activities. Laila and Nyla were matched during the online school year in 2020 when the pandemic kept them both home from school. During that time, neither Big nor Little ever missed a day of program. They got to know each other very well while talking about school, life, and just hanging out! When we asked Nyla what she was most excited about for this upcoming year, she said, “I can’t wait to see my Big, Laila and get to play with her in real life!” Finally, in October 2021, they got to meet in person for the very first time since the pandemic started. They played games and took a picture to celebrate their continued friendship!
